Don't know what to call this? How about f**king ace! Really reminds me of one of the tension build pieces used in 'Shadow Hearts' I'm currently going mad with reverb in my own stuff, wet? More like soaked. Hope you keep at this man, interesting piece.

Not had a chance to play about with Absynth yet, on a scale of 1-10 how badly should I want this?

RiverK responds:

I abuse it. 13/10.

I love me some distortion, if It's glitched up I love it even more. Digging the reverse sounding elements on the piano as well.

I wrote a piece called 'Hidden' that tried capturing a similar theme to this, same kind of piano sound and tempo. I think you've done a better job than I could. Not lame in the slightest and very very cool, keep at it.

I'm noticing a trend with a lot of producers on here, the ones who have a narrative for their music tend to be producing at a higher level. It's really refreshing to see a long description about the feel of the piece, I think you've translated what was in your head to music very well. Keep up the good work.

This is a very tense piece, the way that low end builds really gives a feeling that something big's about to go down.

That opening synth that's doing all the pitch bends is massive!!! F**king hell this keeps getting better and better. I hope you're making money from this stuff mate because this was awesome. Can't get over that main synth though, wow what a sound! Keep at it, you're nailing the craft.

VideoGameManiac responds:

Hey thank you! Glad you like it! I dont make any money from my songs, its just a little hobby of mine to create music and I only do it for the ones who like to listen to them. :)

You got this absolutely right, I take a lot of inspiration from spacey sounds in my own music so this was right up my ally, really nice piece of music, only issue is that I wish it was longer.

Very arcade like in its tonality, drums are sounding pretty solid in this, I struggle with getting the most out of my kicks so kudos for getting yours exactly how it needed to sound in this.

Reddz responds:

What do you use? Fruity Loops? I use FL and some tips i use to get kicks to sound right is sound goodizer or fab filter saturn which is a very nice program. EQ always works together well with the fruity compresser as well.

Created a very uneasy atmosphere with this, It'd fit a section of a video game where the hero has been dumped in a maze and only has a finite amount of time to find a way out before a catastrophy strikes.

I produce music under 'Alias Here' formerly 'Pomp Yin', make videos and work on video games.
